  • Take care of the final paperwork and registry process

Be sure that you take the time to meet with the marriage registry and review the details of your wedding license. Weeks before you should have already submitted your marriage license request and fee, along with the proper identification, but now is the time to make sure that your license is complete and ready for your big day.

  • Make final arrangements with ceremony officials

If you are having a civil ceremony you will need to confirm your appointment with the Registry for the date and time of your wedding. Be sure that you have arranged for two witnesses to be present (who are at least 18 years old). If you are having a civil ceremony at a location other than the Registry office, such as a hotel, be sure that you have transportation and rehearsal details arranged with the presiding official.

For religious ceremonies you still need to confirm with the Marriage Registry the details of your ceremony and finalize the paperwork. Now is the time to also go over your vows and readings. Also be sure that your celebrant is aware of the schedule of the day and has transportation if needed.

  • Finalize your rehearsal details

Be sure that your family and bridal party have a schedule for the rehearsal and that everyone is available for the trial run. Your wedding planner can help you make sure that all of the details are met for the rehearsal, such as who sits where, the order of the procession, and more.

  • Take a final walk through your venue

Meet with the venue staff to make sure that everything is in place according to your plans. Review the time schedule, including for set-up and clean-up, as well as when the meal will be served. Make certain that you have a back-up plan in the case of bad weather for outdoor celebrations. Review your expectations for decorations and your overall theme.

  • Have your beauty trials

Since many destination wedding brides don’t have their personal beauticians travel with them, take a day for yourself and meet with your Maltese beautician for a trial run of your hair and makeup. Your wedding planner can help you select a recommended stylist and you can enjoy a day of pampering for yourself.
