“Why would you want to have a wedding abroad” “How can you trust a stranger to arrange it properly” “you know it won’t be the same as having it here”…… These were but a few of the many statements we had from family and friends. I was hearing it so much that I even started to doubt having our wedding away from England, but we continued as we had intended and arranged to meet several wedding planners on our trip to Malta.
After speaking to several we were not happy with the service being offered! It was as if we were ordering from an online website! Our spirits were not high at all. We had one meeting left with Mary-Grace Lynch from Dreemz Planners. As soon as we met her we clicked, she had a real passion for “our” wedding and was as enthusiastic as anyone could hope for. We spoke of all what we wanted and what our budget was. Anything that we were unsure of Mary-Grace had lots of ideas!
So we needed a venue and a church. We had a few locations in mind and so did Mary-Grace. We were driven to Churches and locations all of which were amazing. One location we did not know of was the Limestone Heritage. Wow what a location, amazing scenery! Orange and Lemon trees, amazing stone walls and a waterfall! Yes a Waterfall! Right that’s the venue sorted! And the church that was suggested by Mary-Grace Saint Nicholas Parish Church in Siggiewi was immense, beautifully sitting in the Town centre. Steps leading up to the front of it. Amazing décor on the inside! The dream was now easily becoming a great reality.
The contact between myself, my wife to be and Mary-Grace over the next several months was professional and personal. Anything we needed to know we had answered. Constant emails, WhatsApp, Face Time and Skype helped us feeling fully in control. So onto the day before the wedding and then the special day itself.
We had decided the day before the wedding to have a pre wedding lunch before the rehearsal. We wanted traditional Maltese foods. Mary-Grace had arranged a lovely little restaurant called the Lapsi View. We met the Manager Marica who was on hand to cater for all of the guests tastes (not everyone wanted traditional food) and was a pleasure to deal with.
All of the family and bridal party were impressed and had a lovely time. The restaurant overlooked the sea and was a perfect precursor to the upcoming day. The wedding day: It’s here! Now I should have probably been more nervous than I actually was, but with the level of detail and planning that had gone on left me very confident.
First order of the day was the transport. I had my car for myself and the best man, my soon to be wife had her cars and the guests had their coaches at hand. All of which went perfectly. I arrive at the Church to be welcomed by our guests and Mary-Grace and her team. The Church is decorated beautifully. My bride to be arrives and the ceremony commences. We had wedding singers and an organist. It was unreal. I was lucky enough that my bride said yes and we are now Mr. and Mrs. Mangion! From this point on our guests had no idea what was happening for the rest of the day, even the bridal party and parents!
The next stage was a bit tricky, or so we thought. We had just finished our photos outside of the church and was off to have some pictures next to the sea. What do with the guests? Well how about we give them a taste of the local friendly bar for a short time as many guests had never been to this beautiful Island. We had arranged that Claudine the owner of Ferdinands Bar would host this interval for us. She put on an amazing spread of traditional foods and of course refreshments for our guests. So the time came to round up the guests to move on to the wedding venue. They were a bit confused as everyone was having such a good time here they thought this was the venue. At this point Mrs. Mangion and I are at the amazingly decorated Limestone Heritage waiting to receive our guests. As they guests start to trickle in I cannot help but feel overly joyous at the fact of how amazed they are with the venue. Welcome drinks and canapés are flowing and then onto our elegant several course sit down meal. All the food and drinks were arranged by Daniela Bonavia at Island caterers. 5 star service and food. It was perfection. I would do it again for the food! The meal was a success!
Now it’s time for the cutting of the cake. It’s nothing major right? Everyone does it….but not like this. It was early evening and as it was awesome weather (thank you Malta) we had this outside. We had our guests count down from ten and as we cut into the cake fireworks lit the sky!! It was perfectly timed. It was an amazing display!!
We held each other, looked up in awe and lapped it up as did our guests. We then went on to have the rest of our beautiful evening. It was perfect! It would not have been possible to have had this day without Dreemz Planners involvement. They were there from the beginning (when we were looking at get married abroad) until the very end (when our guests were leaving).
I would recommend anybody who is getting married or even have a function to look no further than Mary-Grace Lynch and Stephen Chircop and the rest of their amazing and highly talented team at Dreemz Planners. Our greatest thanks Mr. Graham Mangion and Mrs. Lisa Mangion
WOW – Nearly a week has passed since our wedding day and we are still on cloud nine. Our friends have been in contact everyday saying they would give anything to repeat the whole day again. It is being described as ‘The Wedding of Dreams’.Mary Grace isn’t your wedding planner, she is your friend and nothing is too much trouble. I must have asked a million questions on the lead up to the day and nothing phased her. The support she showed us was just incredible and I am actually missing not being in contact anymore. The wedding day itself was probably the most calm and relaxing day we had in months, Mary Grace and her staff were busy organising everything around us and whilst I was busy being pampered with hair and make up the most gorgeous setting was being created. The ceremony area looked absolutely stunning, gorgeous white chairs, cream bows and beautiful flowers. Gorgeous white draping was hung from the stone gazebo area and I just remember walking down the aisle and thinking WOW!Our photographer Stephen was just the best. Cool, calm and collected, you felt instantly at ease with him. If the shots our guests have got are anything to go by then I just know his will be incredible. Amazing guy! Mary Grace and her team made the tables for the reception look stunning, I am still in shock at how perfect everything looked. The food was the best food I have ever tasted in my entire life, service was fast, staff were friendly, polite and some extremely funny! I just cannot stop gushing, the entire day was just magical and it would not have been this without Mary Grace. She stops at nothing, perfectionist just isn’t suitable enough to describe her as. She will be forever in our hearts for giving us the most incredible day of our lives. There isn’t anything to consider, a wedding in Malta is a must and booking through Dreemz Planners is your only option if you want the perfect day! Loads and loads of love
We meet Dreemz Planners in Dublin at a wedding show and they really sold Malta as a wonderful wedding destination. They had so much information about the island as well as churches and venues. Throughout the build up to our wedding they were extremely helpful and answered any questions or worries that we had. As we live in Ireland they were in control of a lot of planning and organising and did and did this in such a professional manner. They worked really hard at making our day as special and memorable as we’d hope and we will be forever grateful
